Tristan, Garrett & Russell
I photographed these fun and funny boys a few weeks ago, and the original task was to get a formal portrait of them. Something dignified and serene, perhaps with them all sitting quietly together -- something their dad really wanted. I would normally have cut this first shot, but you have to see what I was up against! :)
I decided to just play and hang out with them and see where we ended up, but first had to admire Tristan's awesome new choppers:
The family cat was wrangled for a few shots, and looks none too pleased about the whole thing:
I love Garrett's easy smile in this shot -- it's got to be hard being a middle child, and he has a wisdom and tolerance in his eyes that moves me. Tristan and Russell look like they are plotting something, don't they??
More handsome than the prow of any ship:
There were itchy bugs in the grass and they were all annoyed to have to lie down, but I love this shot, so it was worth it!
This was the closest we got to a "formal" shot -- can't you practically hear Russell saying under his breath, "Get on with it already, lady!" He was a trooper, and extremely patient with me. He is only five after all, and was a perfect gentleman.
Ah, summer.
Thanks, guys, and thanks Liza and Jim for letting me hang out with your beautiful boys!

Katie & Dustin Engaged
Check out this extremely sexy (and photogenic) couple, as they burn up the hallways of The Proximity Hotel, where their wedding will take place next spring. Yowza!
I got lucky with this single ray of late-afternoon sunshine streaming into the lower lobby. No other lighting was used, and you can see how Dustin's white shirt acts as the perfect reflector on Katie's face:
I always worry that the guys take a backseat during the whole wedding process -- the focus is often on the gorgeous woman and her gown, naturally, so I wanted to make sure to highlight how red carpet-ready Dustin is here!
...and our last shot of the day, which often does turn out to be a favorite, as it is here:
Fun! Thanks, Katie and Dustin!

P.S. This site is still in process...
In case you haven't noticed, we are still building this awesome site! We have been working since April with Brock and Dave at Infinet Design and now we are just putting the finishing touches on it. The galleries/portfolios above are still under construction (uh, yea, I have no images in mine...), but we're hustling, promise! When all pistons are running at full power you'll be able to one-stop-shop here for all kinds of images and info. Thanks for being patient while we smooth the last bits of icing on top of this yummy cake.

Hello, Lurkers?
I love to check this page to see who visited and get notes from you via the comments. I see there are about 100 of you a day (or maybe that's just me checking this page 100 times a day), so where are you guys??? The comments written during my mom's ordeal were read outloud at breakfast each day and made us all so happy! So I'd just love a regular ol' shout out, especially if you are a complete stranger who attended one of our weddings or the faraway aunt of a baby we photographed. Getting new comments is kind of like getting a postcard in the mail -- a fun, unexpected treat. So there, the gauntlet is thrown down: can you deliver? :)
