Lindsay & Jeff Get Married
A super-fun wedding in what looks like Napa Valley, but is actually in the beautiful foothills of central North Carolina. The setting was Raffaldini Vineyards, which has an old-world feel and a gorgeous villa on the grounds. The weather and evening light were both spectacular.
It all felt very cinematic to me, and there's something about this shot that feels like a still from an Italian film from the '50s:

Props to Taryn, who captured the lovely rear-view shot below -- it's fun to see the same moment from two different angles.
This beautiful boy was taking a stroll with his grandpa during the ceremony -- I can't resist wide-eyed babies, even when vows are being said!
The wedding day was orchestrated by Lindsey Cheek of Grace Leisure Events, and she was such a delight to work with. If it weren't for her clipboard and notebook, she could easily pass for one of the bridesmaids, she's so glowing and pretty. (This great shot by Taryn, btw):
I headed down into the vineyard rows with Lindsay and Jeff for a few just-married shots. I absolutely love this first one, which I just happened to catch as I turned around and caught the fading light behind them. I know this is a weird reference, but am I the only one who thinks this kind of looks like the poster for "No Country for Old Men"??
The party got underway at sunset, and Lindsay and Jeff's first dance was out on the terrace overlooking the fields and the ceremony site. Here's the Raffaldini Villa, surrounded by luminaries lit by family and friends:
OK, enough of the subdued slow music, it's time to DANCE. The flower girl (so poised in a shot above) was a whirling dervish on the dance floor, as was her fellow grade school-age dancing partner.
That's Mark Toney from DJ Joe Bunn in the background:
There was plenty of joyful reveling -- It was a winery, after all!
The garter toss doesn't usually get so much enthusiasm as it did here -- they were jumping for that thing like it was the ball at a playoff game with two seconds to go. And what a victorious catch!
A full moon behind the clouds. I feel Fall coming....
Sparklers are such a fun way to cap off a party (and thanks to Jeff for reminding everyone that hair DOES catch on fire, especially when it has lots of product in it, so please be careful). Nobody combusted, so all's well that ends well.
We had a great time, guys, thank you for everything and congratulations!
