I don't even know what to file this under it's so random, but I was just reading my beloved { US Magazine } during lunch and spotted a photo taken at the recent Cannes Film Festival of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt engaged in an animated conversation with a really good friend of mine.

Ergo, Brad and Angelina and I are practically BFFs, right? To back up, I have known {Eli Roth} since the early '90s when he and I both worked in New York for two different Broadway producers. He was a film student, hilariously funny, and always great to be around. Fast forward to 2002 when he came to North Carolina to direct a low-budget horror film called { "CABIN FEVER" }, and I came on set for a few days to do some of the stills. I remember thinking at the time, "Bless his heart, these slasher films always go straight to video." Uh, yeah, it went to video after grossing $40 million dollars, spawning a franchise and making him a hot commodity in Hollywood.

I emailed him last fall to see if we could hang out in New York, and he wrote back "Sorry, can't do it because I'm filming in Berlin." The end of that sentence should have been "with Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger and the other castmembers of Taratino's new film { "Inglourious Basterds"}.

(You'll notice that in the shot I took of him on set he's wearing a Cannes T-shirt -- a nice prophetic touch.)

Anyway, just wanted to share that you, dear reader, are now just TWO degrees away from Brad and Angelina. You're welcome! :)
