Engaged: Kate & James
The first time I met Kate and James was to film a little audition video for an ill-fated (now cancelled) reality show called "Wedding Day." There had been a call for submissions of interesting couples, and my sister Mary had been riding horses at the North Carolina RIDING CENTER they manage. "They are amazing," she told me, "and he asked her to marry him on horseback."

Here is the pitch I sent to the casting people at Mark Burnett productions, and naturally they jumped right on it. Too bad the show didn't fare well, but James and Kate have an awesome story, with or without reality television fame!

"James and Kate are "horse whisperers" who recently moved from Montana to North Carolina to run a natural horsemanship riding center. James' father, an ER doctor and horse trainer, died of cancer five years ago; James, who is carrying on his father's legacy, gives a portion of his earnings to the American Cancer Society.

James proposed in April of last year while he and Kate were riding in a horse show. The pair are beloved by all who know them, are completely dedicated to each other, to their work, and to the people and animals they serve."

What's not to love about these two?? I'm headed down to Bluffton, SC to shoot their wedding this weekend (sans reality show cameras, thankfully), accompanied by the amazing LEIGH WEBBER.

I spent an absolutely breathtaking afternoon with them few weeks ago, and here is the result:
